Jessie "JD" Walters is the broker and owner of JD Walters Real Estate, an independent brokerage at 404 N Main Street in downtown Belton.

JD was born in Gatesville and raised in Belton, and has been a licensed Texas REALTOR® since 2004. He started his own company in 2012 and built it around a straightforward idea: that this industry's reputation could be a lot better, and that customers ought to end up as friends. He runs his life and his business in one order — faith, family, career.

Today JD and his team work with buyers and sellers throughout Temple, Belton, Salado, Troy, Harker Heights, Killeen and the surrounding Bell County communities. A good share of that work is relocation — households arriving for positions at Baylor Scott & White, and service members and their families moving on Fort Hood assignments.

He also spends a lot of time on the parts of a Texas transaction people find genuinely confusing: what the homestead exemption actually does to a tax bill, how the option period works, and what an OSSF permit means for a property outside city limits.
